Teachers'professional development is now a hot topic in educational research. One of the highlights in the research field of teacher professtional development is case study of expert teachers. In China, there are many famous expert teachers, such as Si Xia. So the study of these expert teachers will be a meanful research work to those young teachers'professional development.Backing on the new educational reform in China, this paper will focus on the case study of superfine teacher Li Yunan, who has the name of"Education Reformer". The author will firstly review Li's 30 years'teacher career, and then analyze the factors that affect Li's teacher professional development in the following three dimensions: Firstly, the author will use document analysis, interview and case study to study the nature and development of Li's professional knowledgy, which include subject knowledgy, pedagogical knowledgy, pedagogical content knowledgy, etc. The second dimension is the analysis of Li's abilities in mathematics teaching and teaching research through case study. The third dimension is about Li's teaching beliefs on mathematics teaching and students.As a case study with only one sample, the results found from this reseach certainly cannot be generalized. But the author is sure that other teachers will benefit from professional development of Li. Finally, the author also hopes that more research on Chinese expert teachers will appear in the near future. No doubt, such researches are important to the new round educational reform and the professional development of young teachers.
