This thesis, after investigating related documents, compares the newly reformed junior high school mathematics textbooks which published in 2005, with the 1996 version, based on author's teaching experience.Based on Constructivism and Interactions theories, this thesis first compares the editing ideology of the two sets of textbooks. Then by using methods of case study and real practices, the two sets of textbooks are compared from multiple points of view, e.g. editing characteristic, contents and editing layout. Conclusions can be made after the research that the new textbooks are superior in many aspects, e.g. conception, problem presentation, the link with true life and buildup of logic thinking ability, etc. It can benefit for the buildup of overall competence.However, the problem in systematism of knowledge should draw everybody's attentions.
