Language testing is a measurement of education, which assesses the language ability and knowledge according to the result. English test types can be broadly divided into indirect multiple choice and direct T answer. As a testing type, multiple choice is the product of the second stage of the language testing development, which was founded in psychological test (mental testing) period. In the 1980s, it came to China and was used widely and became a mainstream in the testing of communication. T answer is another popular testing type with many experts. In the assessment of foreign language test, in addition to feasibility, the reliability and validity of the test are very important. Practice has proven that a scientific testing type is the need for scientific language test. The correct use of testing type plays a vital role in improving the quality of education. At present, in China's primary and secondary school's English tests, even the usual tests, there are a number of multiple choice questions, which in some degree leads to proliferation and low English teaching efficiency. And the students often have"dumb English"and"illiterate English"(referring not able to write). They only can choose ABCD, but can't write a complete sentence. Multiple choice questions does not help inspire students to learn actively and impedes students'play of main initiative and creativity, which made China's English teaching into the vicious circle of the exam-oriented education. In recent years, many well-known English scholars and experts have denounced the phenomenon should be seriously corrected. Kong Dehui (2004:4) pointed: in view of the foreign language options tendency of the large-scale examinations, it's necessary to increase the proportion of T answer, and weaken the effects of multiple choice questions. T answer in the language examinations can also reach a higher objective. This paper reviews the overall goal of junior high school English teaching in the"New Standard", the multiple choice type, the principle of testing and advantages and disadvantages of multiple choice, and made some statements and comparative analysis. This paper tells the difference in validity of the acceptance of the actual English level between multiple choice and T answer. It strives to find the current situation of validity and measures of China's Junior high school English test forms after the promulgation of New Standard, and to try to give some direction to the forefront teachers.According to the theory of foreign language tests, in the combination of domestic and overseas research, in a series of experimental data and qualitative and quantitative analysis, the author sums up the validity of two different test types. So in the acceptance test, large numbers of multiple choice questions do more harm than good to junior high school students to test the actual level of the English language. Multiple choice is in the proportion of disorders, runs away from the actual language teaching, and goes against quality education. The article further points out that the quality education doesn't mean the cancellation of tests, but improving the test quality, balancing the test forms, and increase the number of T answer. Thus, tests can combine the idea of quality education and promote language teaching actively.
