Research Of The Characters Of College Students' National Defence Consciousness

College students are the successors who will build the country and defend the motherland, as well as the hope of the development and prosperity of our country. That strengthening National Defence Education and improving the consciousness and ability of National Defence of college students is a significant aspect of enhancing national strength. Nowadays more and more researchers are concentrating on the problem of college students' National Defence Consciousness. Among the present documents, the research of that mostly remains on the discussion of its essence, which lacks scientific and efficent methods to conduct quantitative study and sum up its characteristics.Through the survey of public awareness of defence, the research is trying to construct the structure of National Defence Consciousness, compile a set of scientific and effective scales, sum up college students' characters towards the comparisom to soldiers, and lastly according to the students' characters, putting forward the strategy and suggestions which aim at raising the college students' national defence consciousness.The research consists of five chapters.Chapter 1 is the introduction, which firstly raises the question, illustrates the background, importance and purpose of the research, and finally introduces the main contents, ideas and approaches to the problem.Chapter 2 is about the survey and establishment of public awareness of national defence.After adopting a quantitative research, interviewing the pubic and giving the summary and analysis of the present documents,it concludes that the contents of public awareness of national defence are mainly composed of four aspects, patriotism, military field, national security and national policy, and domestic and foreign relations.Chapter 3 is the compiling and testing of college students' national defence consciousness scale. Firstly,it makes a forcast of the self-questionnaire about the college students' national defence consciousness according to the contents of the public's . Secondly, it eliminates the selections through the analysis, and revises the self-questionnaire. Thirdly, it determines the 8 dimensions of the scale and compiles a formal testing scale of national defence consciousness of college students and soldiers, and it makes an analysis of the reputation and effect of the formal testing scale.Chapter 4 is the analysis and a summary about the characters of college students' national defence consciousness. The chapter adopts the self-compiling national defence consciousness scale to test college students and soldies, uses the software of SPSS11.5 to analysis the testing data, then finally gets the summary of the characters of college students'national defence consciousness and discusses further.Chapter 5 puts forward the strategy and suggestions which aims at enhancing college students' national defence consciousness. According to the characters of that, it expounds the further ideas and suggestions .
