Research On The National Consciousness Of Mongolian College Students

National consciousness is the spiritual culture system with characteristics of a particular group built up by a national community in the process of its development after hundreds of years of sedimentary deposits. It has irreplaceable capability of promotion, restriction and balance in the existence and development of the ethnic group and in its communication with foreign ethnic groups. It can guide the thoughts and behaviors of the ethnic people and it has respect to the ebb and flow of the ethnic group. As the youth elites of the ethnic group, college students are the hope of the ethnic group and its future development. Therefore, to correctly guide them to establish correct national consciousness is closely related to the prosperity and decline of the ethnic group.Through the analysis of 155 questionnaires by Mongolian students of Minzu University of China, this paper concludes that Mongolian students of Minzu University of China have significant ethnic identity consciousness, strong national interests consciousness and initiative in communication with other peoples; they have relatively objective criteria of right and wrong while they show no obvious national boundary consciousness; when it comes to the national and the country's problems, most Mongolian students show strong national identity consciousness, while some show that their national identity consciousness are weakening. This paper is divided into four parts. Introduction summarizes the definitions of national consciousness from theoretical aspect; the first, the second and the third chapters study related variables of national consciousness, including ethnic identity consciousness, national interests consciousness, national communication consciousness, etc; the fourth chapter mainly analyzes the national identity of Mongolian students of Minzu University of China and related causes.
