College Students' Ideological And Political Education From A Human-oriented Perspective

The ideological and political education is a practice constructed on the base of human being, so it should comply with the internal principle of humanity development. Influenced by traditional ideas, however, the ideological and political education for college students still neglects the internal requirements, despises individual development, unilaterally emphasizes their social value and etc. This kind of misplay and deviation result in a dilemma for college students' ideological and political education. In 2003, under the leadership of Hu Jingtao, the general secretary, the central committee of the CPC brought forward a human-oriented scientific development concept. Therefore, it is an important academic issue deserving to be pondered and confronted to explore the new approaches and methods so as to reinforce the pertinence, actual effect, attractiveness and influences of college students' ideological and political education.Based on a thorough review and analysis of the connotation of the human-oriented concept, the paper clarifies the value orientation of the concept on ideological and political education and the value objective of the education. Meanwhile, with an analysis on the existing dilemma of college students' ideological and political education, the human-oriented approach of college students' ideological and political education is proposed.The research content consists of the following four aspects:Firstly, the paper starts with an exploration of the connotation of the human-oriented concept and clarifies the value orientation of the concept on ideological and political education. The interpretation of "Human" and "Orientation" is a standing point of further theoretical analyses. Under the preceding theoretical guidance, the connotation of the human-oriented concept is explored as: firstly, it is a value concept with human being as its center. Secondly, it is a thinking manner with human beings as its start and destination. Viewed from the perspective of humanity, the human-oriented concept has an important value orientation on the present college students' ideological and political education, which means sticking to the unification of means and purpose, the combination of natural property and social one and the consistency of seeking existence, development and happiness.Secondly, the paper clarifies the value objectives of college students' ideological and political education. As an educational practice, the value objectives of college students' ideological and political education must be shaping all-around college students under the guidance of the human-oriented concept. Specifically speaking, the first content is the all-around development of students' abilities; the second is the free and entire development of students' personality; and the last is the all-around development of social relationships of college students.Thirdly, the paper probes the dilemma of college students' ideological and political education and its reasons. Currently, college students' ideological and political education lacks practicality and faces such fierce contradictions and problems as: the main value of the education faces challenges; some college students lack a high moral standard; they show resistance to the education. The reasons lie in: the idea of the education has not updated; the west idea clashes the value objective of college students; the internet negatively influences the education; and college students face a high pressure to study and seek jobs.At last, the paper puts forward the human-oriented concept to actualize college students' ideological and political education. The present college students' ideological and political education should be human-oriented, paying attention to the inner mental requirements of them, fostering their hosting spirit, focusing on the humanity implication of education and reforming education means and methods. Only by adopting these methods, can the dilemma of college students' ideological and political education be broken through, and then the all-around development of students can be advanced.
