The subject of science in middle schools is a natural science based on experiments. The tenet of the subject lies in improving the students' scientific attainments, promoting them to achieve all-round development. Educating the students to obtain experimentation and ability of doing experiments is the only way to help them to get scientific attainments. The dissertation explains in detail the important method of learning the subject, learning by doing, which plays an important part not only in science learning but also in school education. The dissertation analyzes the specific application of "learning by doing" and its elements, explains how to carry it out better in order to strengthen science teaching and provides specific approaches on the basis of introduction of science teaching in the UK. The thesis consists of four sections.Section 1: Introduction of how "learning by doing" is put forward.Section 2: Introduction of the characteristic of "learning by doing" and its function of education.Section 3: Introduction of science teaching in the UK.Section 4: Introduction of the writer's personal teaching method: discussing how to foster the students' ability of doing experiments flexibly and effectively by making good use of experimental teaching in all the aspects, such as improving and optimizing experimental project, extending the field of experimental teaching, excavating experiment teaching resources, etc. In order to give a clear picture the thesis makes a list of typical and representative teaching cases.
