The Present Situation And Development Strategies Of Teaching Roller Skating In Common Universities Of Harbin Province

With the coming of the 26th Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, all Chinese people have paid more and more attention to the physical exercises, and eager to have more understanding for the Olympic Games and other sports. In addition to such familiar traditional Olympic sports items as table tennis, badminton, weight-lifting, diving, etc, those non-traditional Olympic sports items also have got sufficient development in our country in recent years. Wheel-skating is such an item. Since it was introduced into our country, especially with the reform and opening-up and the raising of people's life standards, it is experiencing a rapid growth, and is rather popular among students of colleges and universities.The physical teaching's aims and functions in Harbin higher education are developing towards the diverse direction. Wheel-skating is such a sport which integrates several functions of leisure, entertainment and body-building. Its unique training effects conform with the contemporary college students'physical and mental characters, so it wins the popularity of so many college students. To promote the better and faster development of wheel-skating sports in Harbin colleges and universities the author, from the sociological viewpoint, analyzes the social background under which the wheel-skating sports develop in our country and Harbin province. In addition, the author uses such studying methods as polls, survey on the spot, statistics and interviewing, etc, to describe the current situation of wheel-skating sports in Harbin through the following aspects: the characteristics of participators, the cognitive conditions for wheel-skating of the enthusiasts their sports contents, places and patterns, their consuming characteristics of students'wheel-skating sports, the main channels by which students can gain the knowledge and skills of wheel-skating sports, their feelings and moods, the factors which affect students'participation, the conditions and environment to be improved, etc. According to these research work, we can more clearly know the current situation and problems which exist in Harbin wheel-skating sports, which can further promote the roles the wheel-skating plays in college physical exercises. At the same time, this thesis can also provide some advices for the physical education teaching of Harbin universities. In the thesis, the given survey subjects are 7 colleges and universities in Harbin by using methods of documents, interviews, visits and data statistics, etc.According to the analysis and rearrangement of these surveying materials, the author gets the following characteristics of the launching conditions of wheel-skating sports in Harbin colleges and universities.1. The frontier geographical position and special local culture, have made wheel-skating which evolved from the alien culture rapidly be accepted, contained in Harbin universities and colleges. It represents in the following aspects; the increasing of participators every year, the cognitive promotion for wheel-skating, the establishment of wheel-skating associations on college scale, and the increasing communication, and also take on the value orientation of leisure and entertainment.2. The situation of wheel-skating teaching activities in Harbin universities and colleges should not be regarded as positive. Although some of the universities colleges have carried out the wheel-skating teaching, they lack of comparatively professional wheel-skating ground and teachers who are often too young and no corresponding academic and teaching abilities, and whose research levels should be improved rapidly. The transformation from the speed-skating teachers is a feasible solution to solve the lacking of wheel-skating teachers temporarily.3. The wheel-skating lovers in Harbin universities long for improving the atmosphere of wheel-skating, set up the wheel-skating organizations, participate in a lot of contests, and promote the technical communication among these organizations.4. Because of special ground and weather conditions, the wheel-skating lovers and teachers in Harbin universities should strengthen the campaigning of safety rules in wheel-skating activities, and should treat properly the injuring problems in wheel-skating sports.
