With implementing "Mathematics Curriculum Standard of Full-time Compulsory Education (Experimental Draft)", the content of probability for the junior high school students has been strengthened. However, the teachers have a lot of confusion in the teaching of this part: The examples in the teaching materials are often not practical, can not attract students' interest. Should the probability be taught by the method of "Practice After Teaching" or the method of "Operating Practice ", or the combination of these two methods? How to deal with a larger difference between the frequency and the probability? Which are taken place in probability experiment? And so on. This study will analyze the cause of these problems, and seek a reasonable probability-teaching model or teaching tactic to improve the quality of its teaching and learning.This article is divided into two parts: (1) Questionnaire design, to survey the junior high school students on the level of awareness of the probability concept. (2) The study on the teaching practice of the new textbook "Probability", compared the pros and cons of two teaching methods.In the first phase of the survey that starts from the four basic issues of Probability, it summed up the common errors of students during their learning. In the second phase of teaching practice, through classroom case studies, the tests, interviews & investigations on the student and the teacher, it compared the two kinds of teaching methods, "Classroom Activities" and "Practice After Teaching", and find out that the former come to better mobilize the students' enthusiasm, the students will have a more solid base of dual-based knowledge by the latter.The paper concludes with a number of recommendations for Probability teaching, and it raises the revisions of the improvement of teaching materials.
