Currently, China is doing innovation for basic education to improve quantity education, while school selecting is a phenomenon in the basic education process, which affects the quantity education and exists from primary schools to high schools. School selecting, as a common social phenomenon, its related "school selecting students" and "school selecting fees" are rare in the world but unique in China. Reasons for school selecting are various. It is resulted from the exposure of deeper conflict in education improvement process.Given the insufficiency and imbalance of government education outlay, there is large difference among schools, among regions, and among qualities of teachers, leading to the difference in teaching quality and imbalance of improvement of schools. Then, some schools and classes are ranked as "key schools" and "key classes" , furthermore, government gives policy bias to the key schools: more education outlay, improving teaching environments, providing with better teachers. Thus, key schools have even better reputation. Parents pay more attention on schools' teaching ideas, teaching environment, level of equipment, teachers' qualities, reputation and the ratios of entering higher schools when they select school for kids, therefore, they all want to select key schools, therefore school selecting phenomenon appears and results in a vicious spiral.This "school selecting" problem affects the government's authority, hurts the seriousness of country's policies and laws, and also affects balanced improvement of education. Meanwhile, it blocks the deepen of quantity education. Students select schools with better ratio of entering higher schools, which is the social pressure that makes schools fight for higher ratio by burdening students. Moreover, the existence of school selecting makes students feel the importance of money, power and human relationship, this gradual influence leads school education to a awkward statement. This "anti-education" phenomenon need our high attention.Reasons for this social phenomenon is various, the paper gives qualitative analysis for reasons affecting school selecting. Then, using Logistic regression model to give quantitative analysis for reasons of school selecting: schools' teaching ideas, teaching environment(such as school spirit), level of equipment, teachers' teaching qualities, charging fees, household income, reputation, ratios of entering higher schools and traffic safety. Section 1 gives deep analysis of this phenomenon's catholicity and the harm to society, therefore comes out the necessity of reasons of school selecting, then briefly outlines this kind of research in China. Section 2 illustrates the basic theory of Logistic regression model. Section 3 uses information from questionnaires to analyze the effect of schools' teaching ideas, teaching environment (such as school spirit), level of equipment, teachers' teaching qualities, charging fees, household income, reputation, ratios of entering higher schools and traffic safety, to school selecting. Section 4 gives brief conclusion and some advice of the solution to schooling selecting phenomenon.
