The new Senior English syllabus set a higher standard for teachers, and English teachers are supposed to set up a new teaching perception that teachers shouldn' t be the centre of a class and the task of teachers should not just be the teaching of booklore. Instead, teachers are required to fully give play to students' subjective role and the teachers' leading role in the teaching course. Students should be the center of teaching, and teachers are expected to pay close attention to all the information fed back from the learners, properly adjust the strategies to solve relevant problems, and effectively lead students to continue their study. On the face, Feedback is actually a bridge connecting teaching with learning. The ignorance of the importance of feedback will make teaching aimless and ineffective. On the basis of the Information Processing Theory and the System Theory, the thesis demonstrates the relations between feedback and the teaching system, the studies types of feedback and explores how to help teachers take the advantage of feedback to improve the efficiency of class and the quality of teaching. The thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter mainly introduces the background and the significance. The second chapter introduces the basic theories and the relationship between them. The third focuses on the fundamental concept, characteristics and varieties of feedback. The fourth chapter deals with the adoption of feedback in real teaching; and the last chapter put forwards the conclusion of the whole thesis.
