As economy, society and family environment changing, the attitude of peasant workers to educate their children may have enormous changes. And these changes can directly influence the behavior choice of peasant workers. To many peasant worker families , being educated is the only way for them to get rid of weak position and promoted upward .As if children education is absence or dislocation in the family, it is possible to lead the "duplication" and occurrence of new poor vulnerable group. Therefore, doing such an empirical research on cognition and behavior choice of peasant workers to educate their children is good for us to have an accurate grasp of the basic situation and then to explore the mechanism of internal influence the cognition works on their behavior choice and thus it has great theoretical and practical significance.Based on rational choice theory , the study apply empirical sociological research methods by asking peasant workers who work in cities such as Changsha, Zhuzhou, Xiangtan, Loudi in Hunan province to do a questionnaire survey . This study analyses the current situation of cognition and behavior choice of peasant workers to educate their children and explore the intrinsic relationship between them comprehensively, systematically and deeply . Hereby this study puts forward three specific assumptions: Firstly, the cognitive degree level of peasant workers towards their children's education whether on value, expectation or return is very high, and they invested a lot of money and time into it ; secondly , there is a positive correlation between the cognition of peasant workers towards their children's education and the number of money they invested it; thirdly, the cognition of peasant workers toward their children's education is positively correlated with the time they spend on it.The results of this study show that: the cognitive degree level of peasant workers towards their children's education whether on value, expectation or return is very high, and they invested a lot of money and time into it ; the return cognition and value cognition of peasant workers towards their children's education are positively correlated with the number of money they put into it ;expected cognition and return cognition of peasant workers towards their children's education are positively correlated with the number of money they put into it; expected cognition and value cognition of peasant workers to educate their children are positively correlated with the time they spend on it .Therefore, peasant workers should be guided to form a correct cognition of value, expectation and return actively by which help them to choose the right behavior.
