With the development of the new curriculum reform in English teaching in China, instructional process designing has come into the spotlight among many teachers. Faced with too many problems in English teaching at present, how to improve the quality of English teaching effectively and efficiently has come into focus. The paper tries to take the perspective of the process philosophy of education, and combined some related theories of instructional designing and English teaching theories, attempting to find out the principles and approaches of instructional process designing of senior English. These principles and approaches were applied in the real teaching process to be used in the analysis of the effectiveness and efficiency of the above principles and approaches. Hopefully, it would be of value to the scientific designing of instructional process and be able to serve the real purpose of English teaching.This paper is made up of five chapters.The first chapter presents the background to the research, so we are able to realize the necessity of the research of English teaching process designing. And it expounds the aim, contents and significance.The second chapter presents some relevant theories of English teaching process designing. They are explained in the following aspects: process philosophy of education, teaching process designing and English teaching designing.Based on the introduction of some relevant theories in Chapter Two, the third chapter presents some principles and approaches of designing teaching process of senior English.The fourth chapter presents some teaching experiments and the analysis of the results. These served as the summary and reflection of the effectiveness and efficiency of the principles and approaches put forward in Chapter Three.The fifth chapter summarizes the conclusion of the research and reflects on its effect on the Senior English teaching in the future.
