As the major content of physics in the first-year class of high school Mechanics provide a basis for the whole physics knowledge.But it is at large that Mechanics is difficult to teach and learn because of the misconceptions and other reasons.A number of studies only focused on few misconceptions and dealt with them piecemeal.In order to conquer this shortcoming this paper put forward the method of physical image teaching. At first gave the definition of physical image and its relations with physical model.Then based on Bruner's cognitive structure theory explained the characteristics,advantages over other methods,the requests on the process of teaching and how to perform this method in teaching Mechanics,at last gave a case.Chapter 1 dealt with the available research.Chapter 2 analyzed the characteristics of mechanics study including the content and cognition.Chapter 3 gave the definition of physical image and its relations with physical model.Chapter 4 and 5 was the theoretic bases,advantages,requirements of the method of physical image teaching.As to how to carry on this method in Mechanics teaching this paper gave the ideal process and an case for reference.Chapter 6 made a summary and pointed to the deficiency.
