In recent years, domestic and international science education are reflected the trend that the importance of the language of physical image. The direct-viewing and intuitive of Physical image may make the difficult and abstract knowledge of physics manifest. However, practicing in high school, I also found a lot of problems. High school students do not fully understand the physical image, although many physics teachers have some knowledge of it, but in teaching physics they still needs further realize the importance of it.This study focuses on the physical image language. Based on a detailed discussion of the definition and classification and the main elements of physical image, as well as focusing on its physical function in physics learning. Further, using and adapting the Test of Understanding Graphs in Kinematics check the status of high school students’ understanding of the physical image, after that through interviews with the students to understand the reasons for its existence problem.Test results of this study using with the SPSS software and Excel comprehensive analysis, there are some physical problems of physical image understanding for the students. Mainly on the physical meaning of the image coordinates of the point and the slope and the area bounded by the axes aspects. There are some differences in different school, understanding the various elements of the image are slightly different. By students’ thinking and problem-solving in full-volume final answer, we get the possible reasons for this situation. In addition, summarize the results and put up teaching recommendations of the physical image:teachers and students need to raise awareness and attention to the value and significance of the physical image; from classroom teaching and real life to enrich students’ understanding of the physical image.
