The aim of English teaching is not initiating the knowledge of grammar, but fostering integrated English abilities. With the development of economic, English as the most widely used language in the world, is becoming more and more important. At present, due to the limitation of teaching conditions, Chinese students do not have the opportunities to learn English in the native countries or communicate with foreign English teachers. Thus, to create a English learning environment to cultivate students'integrated applying English abilities is very important.New English Curriculum Standard and the syllabus of high school have set a high standard for teachers and students on English teaching and learning, especially in students'communicative abilities. However, according to the influence of traditional English teaching model, there are some serious problems in English classroom communicative activities. Experts at home and abroad have made a lot of research on this area and achieved a lot. Based on the result of these researches, the theories of language teaching and a lot of reading about relative materials in this area by the author, the author made a research and analyzed the main problems in high school English classroom communicative activities and brought up some solutions in the end.This paper consists of five parts. The first part is introduction part, including the background of the study, the literature review of English classroom communicative activities and the value of the paper.The second part gives a brief introduction of the theories of English classroom communicative activities, including the theories of English classroom communicative activities, the requirements of English classroom communicative activities, principles and characteristics of designing of English classroom communicative activities.The third part is the research part. The author investigates a high school English classroom communicative activities situation and finds some problems.The fourth part is the conclusion part. From the results of the research in the third part, the author sums up the main problems of high school English classroom communicative activities, including teachers, students and the environments.The fifth part is the countermeasures part. The author tries to find countermeasures for these problems mentioned in the fourth part.
