After having replaced the Grammar-Translation Method and Audio-lingual Method gradually in the middle 80s last century, the Communicative Language Teaching is present in the China's English teaching class, and accepted by most English teachers who are active to practise and popularize such approach, for they are fully aware of its advantages in training of students'language ability. As to the middle school, the English teaching centers on a series of communicative activities, such as the drilling of sentence pattern, situational dialogue and completing of language task.The Communicative Language Teaching plays indeed a positive role in training of the students'lingual communicative ability, and the improvement of such ability meets the demand of our increasingly developing economy. The students'language ability as a whole has been generally enhanced whereas some students can implement some simple initial communicative activities, and cannot successfully complete the relatively advanced or complex communicative activities where their words fail to express the meaning or they cannot make themselves understood due to insufficient vocabulary or misuse or improper use of vocabulary to a great extent—with the popularizing of the Communicative Language Teaching, some English teachers have ignored the importance of vocabulary teaching or misunderstood it.; they think that students should learn words after school and there is no time to teach vocabulary in class.
