Junior science curriculum,which is integrated by four subjects,physics, chemistry,biology and geography,is the luminescent spot and difficulty in this new curriculum reform.The integration of science is a big challenge for the junior middle school science teacher's knowledge structure,the teaching ability,the teaching idea and so on.Now 8 years have passed,how was the teacher influenced by this reform? What the changes of teachers' professional behavior and ideas? What is the present situation of science teachers' professional development? They are all the questions which are worth studying.This research takes the domestic and foreign research results as a foundation and discussed the tendency of theory about science teacher's professional development thoroughly.By selecting the junior middle school science teachers of some provinces and cities(some areas of Zhejiang,Guangdong,Hubei and so on) as the objects of the study.The writer made a survey about the professional development's present situation, and analyzed the reason of this situation,and at last put forward the proposal of how to promote science teachers' professional development.This article is composed by four parts.The first part:Foreword.Introduced the origin of this research,summarized the current domestic surgery teacher professional development research results,the analyze theory of science teacher professional development and the practical meaning,and introduced this research ideas and the methods briefly.The second part:Connotation analyzing and dimension summary of the science teacher professional development.This part expounds some concepts and their connotation related to science teachers' professional development and then the dimensions of the science teacher professional development are summarized on the basis of analyzing the factors that affect it.The third part:The survey and analytical study about present situation of science teachers' professional development in junior middle schools of some provinces and cities.Firstly we made "present situation questionnaire about junior middle school science teachers' professional development" according to the preliminary fundamental research supposition,selecting some objects to test and verify the questionnaire and then made a revision about the questionnaire.At last,made a formal survey about the selecting junior middle school science teachers.In this part,we have two research goals: First,through the investigation and study,seeks for the problems in the junior middle school science teacher professional development;second,seeks for the driving mechanism of junior middle school science teachers' professional development, provides the realistic basis for the improvement of present science teachers' training and education.The fourth part:Strategy research about how to promote junior middle school science teachers' professional development.Including the changes about science teachers' own professional development idea and practical strategy.
