The thinking mode of the Threefold representation is the characteristic of the chemical way of thinking.To help students in high school to form the habit of the Threefold Repesentation is the requirements of the new curriculum reform of chemistry, which can contribute to the promotion of students'better understanding of the chemical sciences and improve their scientific literacy .Based on the original study,this article studies in-depth its definition, characteristics ,formation ,and the specific training strategy.Experiments are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the strategy mentioned.The Threefold representation thinking mode means learning chemistry knowlege from the macro, micro and symbolic angle and establishing the organic integration and transformation between them, which is an organic whole.Its formation can be roughly divided into three phases: the acquisition phase, the transformation phase and the automated phase.This thinking mode is characterized by stability, phase and migration.It is a manifestation of the characteristics of the chemical nature ,the key to learning chemistry and can contribute to the understanding of chemical knowledge ,help students analyse problem from the scientific perspective as well as help improve the scientific literacy of students.It can not simply rely on the achievement of the students themselves, but must be under the guidance of teachers through a series of teaching activities .In the teaching process, teachers should constantly improve their own awareness to raise students'awareness to think in this way to solve chemical problems; also the rational teaching methods should be used to enhance the formation of this way of thinking.The author selected two classes in grade one of the high school where the author is working as research subjects;one is the experimental classes and the other is the control classes. The experimental class is taught by the author and the control class is taught by a teacher who is of the same qualification and the same teaching level with the author.The experimental process is strictly controlled.Both the two classes are taught with the Experimental High School Curriculum Standards Textbook One.The control class used the traditional teaching model while the experimental class used the Three Rpresentation thinking mode strategy .After one semester, a survey was conducted among the two classes and also some of the students in the experimental class were interviewed to better understand the extent of students'formation of the Threefold Representation thinking mode ; at the same time, the performances of the students in the two classed were compared.The result shows that threefold representation is available by teaching,and that our teaching strategy is effective.In the end,we preview prospect for future research along with analyzing the problems exisiting in the thesis.
