Gymnasiums and stadiums resources provide forceful material guarantees for the sports development and constitute important elements in the field of sports industry. How to use the resources scientifically exerts a direct influence on the prospects of sports development. The promulgation and implementation of The -National Fitness Plan, in particular, not only greatly-stimulates the enthusiasm of the participation of all citizens, but brings about a new topic of the development and utilization of the gymnasiums and stadiums resources as well. At the present stage, the most notable characteristic is a phenomenon that deficiency and extravagancy coexist in the utilization of gymnasiums and stadiums resources in China. Generally speaking, citizens lack physical activity venues, while a large numbers of venues available are left unused and closed. Gymnasiums and stadiums in colleges and universities have the advantages of big scale, large quantity, rational allocation, beautiful environment, talented persons, advanced science and technology, and scientific management, which can not only relieve the shortage pressure of social stadiums, but also make up for the deficiency of sports funds in colleges and universities. School stadiums resources serve as new blood for sports industry and a vital force for stadiums resources. It is significant that school stadiums resources should be adapted to deepening reforms and used as sharing resources. This paper deals with the present situation of gymnasiums and stadiums resources in general colleges and universities in Kunming. By adopting the methods of documentation, questionnaire, statistics, logical analysis and so on, it studies the status of opening and using gymnasiums and stadiums, including resources allocation, social benefits, and economic benefits. Based on the theoretical analysis of the factors that influence the development and utilization of stadiums, this paper attempts to seek a reasonable way for colleges and universities to open their gymnasiums and stadiums to the public with pay. Meanwhile, it indicates that the management level of departments related to gymnasiums and stadiums should be improved. This paper also provides a theoretical basis for a rational use of gymnasiums and stadiums resource in colleges and universities in Kunming, as well as a reference for improving physical education of our country.
