The Ministry of Education has promulgated the Ordinary high school mathematics curriculum standards(experimental version) since April,2003. Hainan,Guangdong,Shandong and Ningxia were chosen to be the first experimental units in September,2004,and the units have been broadened from 2005 to 2006.Fifty provinces and autonomous regions have become experimental units of new curriculum in high school since the fall's new semester of 2007.Totally sixteen elective topics have become the high school mathematics new curriculum.Among these topics,many of them are new ones, and even some are stranger for high school teachers whose major is mathematics.Even in those first test provinces and origins,there still are some teachers are not so familiar with new topics,specially the elective topic on switch circuit and Boolean algebra..The high school new curriculum will unfold around the country in 2010.Teachers in Guizhou where has not start the new curriculum are facing the challenge that how to take a strange elective curriculum,for example "switch circuit and Boolean algebra" etc.The writer who is a postgraduate and once high school mathematics teacher is not familiar with the new topic at first.Therefore,the writer will study the feasibility and the obstacle that may exist in the new topic from the angle of a postgraduate and high school teacher.The paper consists of the following four parts:Firstly,the writer collected some materials that high school teachers have mastered about the switch circuit and Boolean algebra. Secondly,the write puts forward different teaching designs aboutThe topic for mathematics majored students,non mathematics majored,and high school students.The last chapter is the summary about the three different teaching experiments.From experiments,the writer got the following conclusion.The first is that it is feasible for high schools to open switch circuit and Boolean algebra.The second is the knowledge and operational obstacles regarding switch circuit and Boolean algebra.The writer finds the knowledge obstacle is how to simplify the switch circuit and Boolean algebra and the physics background knowledge etc.The operational obstacle on switch circuit and Boolean algebra is how to present the opposition pole of switch circuit,and the standardization and simplicity in a way that is easy to master for students.
