To be one of the important parts of the primary and junior middle school education, the textbook has reflected the curriculum and the design idea quite really in certain stratification plane.Although the differences between China and the United States greatly, they have many aspect similarities in the junior middle school mathematics curriculum teaching domain. Comparison of Chinese and foreign education through literature summary research, may discover that the current mathematical research on the United States also focused on the basic goals of education at the macro level study of U.S. secondary school mathematics textbooks in micro-studies is uncommon. Looks over the Chinese and American mathematics education development condition and the textbook development process, the present Sino-US Junior middle school mathematics textbook still has worthy to be learned from each other's content.In view of this, this paper selected the junior middle school mathematics textbook Mathematics: Applications and Connections (i.e.: MAC textbook),which take more influential in the United States, and the larger reform textbook, published by Beijing Normal University publisher (i.e.: BNUP textbook), take'the number and the algebras'realm as an example, adopt comparison method, content analysis, cultural heritage method, interview method etc. make a comparative study from the macro-level and the micro-level. Among them, the macro-level, mainly related to the design of textbooks, the whole present characteristics etc. while the micro-level involve curriculum breadth, depth courses, curriculum time, example, exercise preparation, organizational structure and the preparation of structure and so on. Study shows that:First, the Chinese and American middle school mathematics textbooks show both similarities and differences on design ideas and the characteristics Through the macro view comparison research of the textbook, we discovered that the American textbook combine the construction type and the'material of study'type design, the BNUP textbook is the center type design combine the construction type ,so the characteristics of Chinese and American textbook exist a lot of same places, such as both countries'textbooks compilation is abundant and elegant, pays great attention in the discipline and mathematics and other discipline relation, and mathematics application penetration in textbook compilation design. However, due to the differences in textbook design, the Sino-US textbook in mathematics thought seepage, the knowledge content presents, information technology and curriculum integration reflects the extent of the difference.
