At the turn of the century, the world set off the climax of the basic education curriculum reform. The setup and development of science curriculum is an indispensable part. Combined with the implementation of the science curriculum and the promulgation of the new science curriculum, it is very necessary to research on geographic knowledge system of junior high school science textbook in China in order to provide the reference for the revision of textbooks.Based on the analysis of the previous research on this problem, the connotation of "science" and "knowledge system" is be defined, and then draw concept of junior high school science textbook knowledge system, thus constructing knowledge system of geography section of two countries junior middle school science textbook. A Comparative Study of knowledge system of junior high school science textbooks is built on Pedagogy, Educational Psychology, Systems Science.Comparison is carried out from the structure, content, comprehensive of geography part of the knowledge system of junior high school science textbook, thus conclude the following advantages of geography knowledge system of junior high school Science Textbook in China:in line with the logic of the system of geographical knowledge, reflecting the application of geographic knowledge systems, close to the scientific curriculum content of junior high school, pay attention to the cultivation of students’ scientific inquiry ability, pay attention to integrated geographic knowledge system and STSE education; the shortcomings:the problems:the logical structure of geographic knowledge system is not very complete, the application value of geographical knowledge system structure is not enough, the geographical knowledge system contents and science curriculum standard fit some missing points, culture geography system of inquiry ability is not prominent, the transition of Science in junior middle school and high school geography needs deepening, integration of geographic knowledge system need to be enhanced.Aiming at the shortage of geography knowledge system of junior high school science textbooks in China, and to absorb the advantages of America, putting forward five basic principles to optimize the design of geography knowledge system of junior high school science textbooks in China:the principle of content selection richness, the principle of application and logic, the principle of suitable difficulty, scientific comprehensive principle, the principle of effective cohesion. The optimization strategies on basis of following the basic principles are putted forward:careful selection of the content of science textbooks to enhance the knowledge system of richness; rational organization of the content of science textbooks to improve the knowledge system of logic; scientific arrangement of teaching materials and exercises to enhance the application of the knowledge system; effective and comprehensive science textbook content to enrich the integration of knowledge system; appropriately increase the geographic history of science and technology to optimize the integrity of the knowledge system; improving the presentation of the knowledge system to highlight the teaching of science textbooks.
