It’s acknowledged that students from our country have performed so great in IMO. However, even though we have so many genius who had enjoyed a 12-year education in our country haven’t gotten a favor by Fields Medal or Wolf Prize, which is the Nobel Prize in mathematics. On the contrary, America, which hasn’t performed so good as our country in IMO, has gotten an amazing record of receiving Fields Medal or Wolf Prize. Not only in study of Math but also in science technology, America always be a leader of the world. Thus, the study of the education differences between our country and America plays a crucial role in development of education in our country. Learning advanced teaching technique from America and adjusting it to the reality in our country will be helpful in the development of Math education in our country. Textbooks play a critical role in teaching activities, and only the scientific textbooks can ensure the quality of education, and bring up talents of socialist modernization.This study concentrates on the similarities and differences between Go Math which won "The Advanced 100 Publications" in 2010 and Primary Math (PEP) by using analysis of literates, comparison, induction and logical analysis.This study comprises five parts:Chapter one introduces the background of the topic, study objects, study techniques, study contents and the significance of this study.Chapter two summaries the relative study in our country and abroad.Chapter three compares number and algebra, geometry and graphics, statistics and probability in PEP and Go Math from grade one to grade six in terms of class proportions and difficulties of textbooks, and finds out that the class proportion of number and algebra in PEP is higher than it in Go Math, whereas class proportions of geometry and graphics, statistics and probability in Go Math are higher than them in PEP. Moreover, textbooks of PEP are more difficult than Go Math.Chapter four compares the structures in PEP and Go Math in terms of horizontal structure and vertical structure, logic in Math and development of students, linear structure and spiral structure, and finds out Go Math is more scientific and reasonable;Chapter five compares the featured columns of PEP and Go Math.The sixth chapter summarizes the results of this study, draws inspiration and advice combing with unique educational backgrounds of our country and America, and states the defects and prospects of this study.
