The ancient prose is not only a gem in treasury of Chinese literature, but also the essence of traditional culture and national spirit. In recent years, people pay more and more attention to teaching of the ancient prose,which increases obviously in Chinese teaching material of the elementary and middle schools and also increases in Chinese examination papers. However, there are many problems in the ancient prose teaching, and the present situation is actually unsatisfactory. Zhu Ziqing was chosen because he was not only a well-known essayist and poet, a scholar who had a lot of masterworks, but also a practitioner of Chinese education and educationist who devoted his lifetime to Chinese education. He was excellent at the classical literature, and also left behind the rich buried treasure of the ancient poetry teaching thought.The thesis first analyzes Zhu Ziqing's ancient prose teaching thought mainly from three aspects, which are composed of teaching purpose, the course content and the teaching method.Then, the thesis reveals its significance and enlightenment in today's education. The full thesis is divided into five parts:Introduction, in this part it introduces all his life of Zhu Ziqing briefly and sums up the existing achievements in Zhu Ziqing Chinese education thought, and clarifies the research program in this paper. Chapter One analyzes the development of Zhu Ziqing's ancient poetry teaching thought that stemmed from social factors, practice of education and his specialty knowledge. Chapter Two expounds the objectives of Zhu Ziqing's ancient poetry teaching, including literary and cultural heritage appreciation. Chapter Three concludes his views on teaching material of the ancient prose, including style, form and content. Chapter Four elaborates on his ideas of teaching methods. He payed great attention to the way to introduce, expailn and read. The epilogue carries on the summary to the full paper and reveals that his thought will help us to grasp the purpose of the ancient prose teaching correctly, to instruct arrangement and choice of the ancient prose teaching material and to improve the methods of the ancient poetry teaching.
