Teacher's practical knowledge in the research-based curriculum means the knowledge which the teacher acquires by the ways of experiencing, realizing, reflecting, encapsulating and communicating with others. It leads to the teacher's teaching behavior in the research-based curriculum substantially, also affects his discipline teaching.The topic of this study is the teacher's practical knowledge in the research-based curriculum. The research applies the method of narrative inquiry to present a story about a middle school teacher who instructs the research-based curriculum, aiming at exposing the content of his practical knowledge and the influencing factors of its formation and development. Lastly, the study may improve this teacher's professional development and give an inspiration to other teachers.The thesis can be divided into four parts.In the preface, first, it introduces the background. Then, it summarizes the domestic and foreign related research of the teacher's practical knowledge, also analyzes the research situation about the teachers in the research-based curriculum. Finally, it explains questions and meanings of the paper, expounds methods and process of the study.Chapter one, the author defines the concept of the research-based curriculum, compares it with the subject curriculum, delineates the teachers' image in the research-based curriculum and analyzes the influence of the research-based curriculum on teachers.Chapter two uses the way of narrative inquiry to reveal Mr. Wu's practical knowledge in the course he instructs the research-based curriculum.Chapter three interprets the practical knowledge of teachers in the research-based curriculum. Firstly, it analyzes the contents including education view change, instructional approach improvement, instructional reflection and inquiry. Secondly, it probes into the influencing factors about formation and development of the practical knowledge, covers personal practice summary, the wisdom of the community, the effect of educational theory and the influence of education reform.
