ICT has been fully involved in education. Discussion and study about how to use ICT for general purpose in school has been conducted a lot by experts and scholars .This is in contrast to research on intervening learning disabilities (LD) with ICT. The latter has been little or even blank in China which is inconsistent with belief "for the development of every students" advocated by the New Curriculum Reform. The development of ICT should be of benefit to everyone who has access to education. And ICT also has a lot of advantages to provide relevant support services for students who have special educational needs.This thesis aims at introducing LAMS (Learning Activity Management System) into supplementary education of students with LD in elementary education. It tries to bring forward a new application way with ICT for intervening the learning process of students with LD based on the analyzing of the status of ICT application and the reality of students with LD at first, then design experiment to explore the feasibility and effect of the application way in math disability in middle school, at last conclude the experience and strategies of applying LAMS in LD. It includes the following parts in this study:Theoretical parsing: This part distinguished the relevant concepts of LD in terms of concept development, introduced the present situation of students with LD, and analyzed several subjects relevant to ICT application in the field of LD at home and abroad.Reason analyzing: This part analyzed that it is necessary to introduce LAMS into students with LD, analyzing the feasibility from four aspects: school ICT environment, LAMS support service ,the advantage of Learning Design and the research achievements in the LD field.Practice verifying: This part mainly consisted of two issues: designing experiment and carrying out experiment. It presented detailed the design elements, the developing process of learning materials, the process and the outcome of experiment. When designing the experiment environment we simply analyzed the way how LAMS works and how LAMS environment be installed. At last we designed and developed a unit of learning with "Rational calculations" content especially for students with math LD .Main viewpoints of this research and the work it did include:Summarized present situation of students with LD, some subjects relevant to application of ICT in LD field, defined relevant concepts about students with LD and LAMS.Installed and debugging LAMS, explored developing process of unit of learning and designed principles especially for students with LD, provided some strategies for better application of LAMS in general school.Practicing the well-developed UOLs in general school in junior high school, carrying out an experiment for three months. The outcome of experiments shows that it is welcome for some students with LD to get support service from LAMS out of classroom. LAMS is feasible and effective as an important method in math disabilities; it can not only promote the motivation and interesting of learning, but also improve the students' marks and learning capability in some extent.The outcome of experiments and investigation and consultation with teachers and students shows that the feasibility and intervention practicability of Extra-curricular education support based on LAMS for students with LD designed in this research is comparatively good, but it is necessary to improve every aspect according to opinions and suggestions from teachers and students. Only by doing this can function and potentiality of LAMS be brought into full play.The main value of this research is: to offer an trial to introduce ICT to LD field; to provide guidance and reference for schools and teachers who would like to choose LAMS as a way of Extra-curricular education support for students with LD in elementary education in future. |
