Ideological and political education for college students with the guidance of Marxist Theory is an important guarantee for higher education completing the task training new kinds of talented person. The staff of ideological and political education for college students is the principal part of this work and plays an dominant role. However, facing the new situation and requiremets, the staff of ideological and political education for college students doesn't set up the consciousness of total education, and the phenomenon of "non-full" is emerging and growing. As a result, it is clearly unequal between the "input" and actual "output" that the CPC Central Committee and national spend on ideological and political education for college students and it also restricts the actual effect of ideological and political education for college students. This paper is under the guidance of Marxist Theory, follwing the basic rule of ideological and political education and talent exploitation, according to the status quo and the requirements of the staff of ideological and political education for college students, making special research and exploration on how to realize total education of the staff of ideological and political education for college students.The paper has been divided into five parts.Part one is about the survey to total education. It mainly includs content, features and functions of total education, thus lays a foundation for the forthcoming discussion.Part two discusses total education is the inherent requirement of ideological and political education for college students. It mainly maks special exploration on total education in theory arrounding thinking, education, the characteristics of the ideological and ideological and political education for college students.Part three is about the performance and the cause analysis of the phenomenon of "non-full". On the basis of listing the performance of "non-full", this part makes targeted analysis about the cause of "non-full" from the social environment, school factors, etc.Part four is about the drawbacks of "non-full", which includs influencing the ideological and political education for college students' scientification, a large number of students' ideological problems not being soluted, restricting specialization and vocationalization of the staff of ideological and political education for college students, and constrainting the long-term development of higher education and society. It is the supplement and deepness of the third part.Part five is about the Countermeasures to realize total education. It mainly includs strengthening the construction of campus culture to strive to create the field effect that education is obligatory on a teacher, strengthening work of ideological and political education for university faculty members and their sense of education, establishing the scientific and rational staff appraisal system which is consistent with "people-centered education", rationalizing three channels about total education to form a wide range of resultant force, establishing a strong professional team by specialization quality, strengthening researches on college students' ideological problems, etc.
