But the Autonomous enrollment of universities also meets many questions in reality, which causes the university autonomous recruitment to be unable to achieve the anticipated effect. In the process of implement university autonomous recruitment, the Republic of China had accumulated some experiences, which are useful for us to solve some problems that generate in contemporary university autonomous enrollment system. So, with the male features and flaws of the university autonomous enrollment of the Republic of China were summarized, it is good for the reform of our country contemporary university autonomous enrollment system, and has some academic value and practical significance to consummate the methods and policies of the contemporary university autonomous enrollment.This paper is based on the study of the university autonomous enrollment system of the Republic of China; and analyzed the social background of its implementation and with its development course reviewed. According to the difference of its implemented stage and way, the development course of the university autonomous enrollment of the Republic of China was divided into three aspects: the development course of Public university autonomous enrollment, the development course of Private University and Church university autonomous enrollment, and the development course of Pedagogical academy autonomous enrollment.
