This paper discusses gift exchanges in Farming community in eastern Inner Mongolia, taking Donghol village of Horchin Left Rear Banner as research site, from perspective of social anthropology, with focus on investigation and analysis of the characteristics of gift exchanges, functions and their relation to social relationships.This paper is made up of introduction,main body (three chapters) and conclusions. The Introduction mainly describes relevant results in researches of gifts at home and abroad, purpose and significance of the research, and research methods relevant to the topic. The first chapter introduces the field research site, the village of Donghol, in terms of social and geographical aspects. The second chapter talks about the daily life of villagers at Donghol, especially their exchanges of gifts in certain occasions of social life. The third chapter analyzes the gift exchange the village of Donghol in terms of their social functions, the features principles of gift exchange, and their effects on the local community. At end, it summarizes the content of the paper.
