During the development of language acquisition research, the impact of individual differences on learners’foreign language learning has been emphasized a lot. Foreign learning motivation has been drawing increasing attention and it has been proved that learning motivation has all undoubtedly evident effect on foreign language learning. However, most of the previous research was aimed to study motivation theories and directed to facilitate further theoretical research rather than operation of motivation strategy.To motivate students to learn English requires teachers to utilize more motivational strategies in order to improve students’achievements. The present research employed motivational strategies directly in foreign language teaching situation. The present research was all empirical study just intended to explore whether motivational strategies can affect students’ achievements and can enhance the learning motivation of senior high students in English, and then try to find which motivational strategies influenced students’ achievements and enhanced the learning motivation of senior high students in English. The subjects in this study were100students, who were studying English as a foreign language from two classes of N0.2senior high school in Panjin.50of them formed the experimental group and the other50formed the control group. In the experimental class, Dornyei’s motivational strategies were fully employed in the course of the experiment. The subjects received a pre-test and post-test on their English proficiency, and both a pre-survey and a post-survey using the same questionnaire on their learning motivation for English motivational intensity. Qualitative analyses were used to analyze the data from the interviews. It can provide researchers with more accurate information by combining qualitative research with quantitative research.The result of the research showed that motivational strategies can improve students’achievements and can effectively enhance the learning motivation of senior students in English learning. The result of the research suggests that it is necessary for English teachers to supply motivational strategies in their teaching practices and motivational strategies can help the teachers better understand how well a foreign language teacher can motivate their students to learn and improve students’ achievements.
