Writing is a kind of written form of communication to express thoughts. It involves comprehensive usages of listening, speaking, reading and other language skills. These four skills are supplement with each other and promote each other. Therefore, in both theoretical and practical teaching domains, problems of writing have been the focus of language educators. Although reading is considered the most important subject in Chinese EFL teaching in senior high schools, the students'writing ability improves comparatively slowly and the results of teaching are not satisfying. One of the most important reasons for this situation is that students are not fully aware of the cultural differences between China and the west in the way of expressing. They often fail to think in the western way when writing. Language is one of the important conveyors of culture. Cultural differences between China and the western countries are the potential factors that influence the improvement of senior middle school students'English writing.
