Sex education among junior middle school students is a recent introduction to the practice of quality-oriented education in China. It is specially aimed at young people who have arrived at adolescence. Since the 1980s,sex education in secondary schools has received increasing attention with each passing day in our country and is now included in the relevant laws and regulations. However, the existing status of adolescent sex education in secondary schools is not optimistic. The author is of the opinion that adolescent sex education, like other subjects, should be conducted mainly in schoolrooms. This essay is a study of sex education carried out among junior middle school students who have just entered puberty, upon which the author is striving to establish school-based curriculums.After all, as junior-one students who have just entered puberty, they, accompanied by the appearance of secondary sex characteristics, are experiencing a lot of confusion, contradictions, troubles, which they have never been exposed to before. During this period, the proper conduct of adolescent sex education among junior school students can contribute to them gaining an understanding of the laws and characteristics of adolescent physical and mental development, of how to associate with the opposite sex normally, and gaining a mastery of psychological knowledge and methods of self-regulation so that they can build up a healthy body and form a sound personality. Therefore, the author, by means of specialized courses, has systematically carried out adolescent sexual health education among part of the junior-one students and probed into the problem of how to conduct from practice a comprehensive adolescent sexual health education among middle school students.The topic for the above-mentioned research mainly takes the form of questionnaires and quasi-experimental education approaches and the results have been statistically analyzed using Excel. Through practice and research, the students can have systematic access to adolescent sex education suitable for junior middle school, the students can relatively fully grasp the knowledge related to sexual biology, sexual development, sex morality, sexual psychology, heterosexual contacts, sexual injury prevention, venereal diseases and AIDS, which can help to heighten their awareness of precautions against sexual attacks and to free them still in early adolescence from the situation in which they think sex is hazy, mysterious, and confusing so that they can develop a positive and optimistic attitude towards life, concentrate on their studies and grow up healthily. The study of this topic has basically reached the expected goal.The development of the school-based curriculum "Sex Education Among Junior Middle School Students" has led to the building of school-based curriculum development framework, which could serve as a case provided to front-line teachers and as materials to go by as well when trying to develop school-based curriculum in the future.
