| Children's early reading period begins in family. Parent-child shared book reading, an important part in early reading period, has great significance for children's growth, emphasizes interactive reading between parents and child. There is more attention on early reading in kindergarten but less in family in domestic research. This paper bases on the study of parent-child shared book reading at home and abroad, which explores the Relation between parent-child shared book reading and children's early reading ability.The research objects are 107 students from three different grades in a secondary kindergarten in Baoshan District, Shanghai. Through the observation of children's reading behavior, their reading level is tested and early reading ability is estimated. This research surveys parent-child shared book reading in family and the literacy environment of family reading through questionnaire. The result data is analyzed by SPSS. This paper examines quality and quantity of parent-child shared book reading activities and the literacy environment of family reading inaction on children's early reading ability.The study shows that the quality and quantity of parent-child shared book reading activities are remarkably relevant to early reading ability. The quality of activities is higher, children's reading ability is stronger. More reading, children's reading ability is stronger. And family literacy environment is relevant to children's early reading ability. The better the environment, the stronger children's early reading ability. This study also shows that parent-child shared book reading plays a positive role in children's early reading ability. |
