In the context of globalization, the cross-cultural communication among the world becomes inevitable. English, as a global language, will become increasingly important in cross-cultural communication. Cross-cultural communication is not only the language delivery, but also the exchange of ideas. While ideas can not a simple application of language knowledge, but an interaction of cultural awareness. So cross-cultural awareness plays an essential role in cross-cultural communication. English teachers, as language teachers, naturally should be the infiltrators of cultural awareness. The training of students'cross-cultural awareness can't be without the development of teachers' cross-cultural awareness. The question on English Teachers'cross-cultural awareness development emerges.Research thinking of the paper is as follows. Firstly the connotation, the dimension and developing stages of English teachers'cross-cultural awareness were made definite. Secondly through on-site survey manifestations on English teachers'cross-cultural awareness in three stages of cultural development were described in detail. Then the influence factors were analyzed. Finally development models on English teachers' cross-cultural awareness were constructed.The paper is divided into six parts:The first part is introduction, which outlines the relevant research on cross-cultural awareness, presents the purpose and meaning on the paper and explains the relevant concepts.The second part is the design on research scheme, which introduces research hypotheses and research process of the thesis.The third part is social and cultural background of two English teachers, which includes their educational background, family background and teaching experience. The fourth part analyzes the manifestations of English teachers'cross-cultural awareness in three stages of cultural development.The fifth part explains influencing factors of English teachers'cross-cultural awareness.The sixth part constructs two development models of English teachers'cross cultural awareness and makes an analysis on their practicability.
