Purpose:This study is choosing ordinary female university students as research object, by measuring a number of other physiological and biochemical indexes, such as heart rate variability (HRV), nitric oxide (NO), acetylcholine esterase (ACHE), monoamine oxidase(MAO)etc, in order to study Tai Chi fitness mechanism, and spread and extend vigorously Tai Chi exercise on healthy female students in colleges and universities.Methods:15 girls of Beijing Sports University major in Physical Management, grade 08, who never learnt Tai Chi before, train 24-style Tai Chi for 8 weeks. Before the training, all the subjects were tested with Omega Wave Instrument as the quiet state of HRV as the basis, and HRV of quiet state was tested for the later 8 weeks. Also, all the subjects were tested serum NO, ACHE, MAO before and after the trainings.Results:1. After 8 weeks Tai Chi training, PNN50, HF increased significantly, which indicates that Tai Chi can increase the tension of the vagus nerve; TP increased significantly, which suggested Tai Chi can increase the integrated regulation of autonomic nervous system; other indicators were not changed significantly;2. After 8 weeks Tai Chi training, Serum NO has an extremely significant increase, which improve their blood vessel relaxation. In this way, Tai Chi can reduce the peripheral vascular resistance, enhance blood circulation, protect cardiovascular health;3. After 8 weeks Tai Chi training, Serum ACHE were not changed significantly;4. After 8 weeks Tai Chi training, Serum MAO reduced significantly, which help to reduce the level of H2O2, protect the nerve activity; Conclusion:Tai Chi improve the integrated regulation of autonomic nervous system, especially in the vagus nerve system, enhance blood circulation, reduce the level of H202, protect the cardiovascular health and the nerve activity. Thus,we should spread and promote Tai Chi exercise on healthy female students in colleges and universities.
