Study On The Development And Community Relations Of Xuzhen In Guangxi

Xuzhen, with a fixed permanent population and supporting facilities, is a common economic and social entity in Guangxi. Since the rise, existence and development of each Xuzhen are different, the development of Xuzhen in Guangxi is uneven. In Guangxi, Daxu Town, Huangyao Town, and Rongxu Town comparatively have better prosperity and transportation, but most of the towns in Guangxi are less developed and unknown. The latter type of Xuzhen may be far less developed than the former in prosperity and influence, but as it comprises the majority of Guangxi's Xuzhen, most of these ordinary rural towns can better reflect the common features shared by Guangxi towns, so it is more appropriate to be chosen as a topic for research. This paper, by examining an ordinary town in Guangxi– Lanxu in Daxin County of Guangxi, explores Xuzhen, as an economic and social entity, its responsibilities and functions, as well as the influence it exerted on local community relationship in the process of change and development.This thesis, taking Lanxu in Daxin County of Guangxi as the case for research, examines its agricultural, commercial and cultural changes in all aspects, and forms thoughts and analyses. It is divided into the following chapters, the first chapter is introduction which includes the main statement that can now be accessible to the research results related to Xuzhen in Guangxi, and the origin and significance of this research; the second chapter is introduction of the ecological and human environment of Lanxu,and reviews the history of Lanxu; the third chapter studies the agriculture and business development of Lanxu, as well as their influence on the development of community groups; the forth chapter focuses on the customs and cultural change and development of Lanxu , and discusses the impact they exerted on community groups; the conclusion part points out that as an economic entity, the duties and functions Xuzhen shoulders have been far beyond the scope of the economy. As a changing and developing economic and social framework, using its special status formed in history, when constantly adapting to contemporary social development, it also brings elements of modern society to the community groups affecting the development of the relationship between local communities and ultimately leading the relationship to achieve convergence and harmony.
