With the trend of new curriculum reform of history, cultivating the history sense has become the key task. However, it is generally ignored in high school history teaching. So cultivating the history sense has become a problem which badly needs to be dealt with.What is history sense? What significance does cultivating history sense have? Before doing so, we should work out these two problems firstly, because not only students but also many teachers couldn't offer clear explanation.To cultivate students'history sense, we must have a good knowledge of the present situation. With the help of companions, the author carried out a questionnaire among middle school students. After analyzing, there is a clear conclusion that it is common that students are lacking in history sense. How does it happen? The essay will analyze it from history reasons, teachers'quality, students'factor and teaching books.How to cultivate students'history sense is the key content of this essay. The author made further analyses from cultivation of teachers'quality and teaching methods. Firstly, cultivating students'history sense is based on improving teachers'quality. It includes: teachers should have noble character; keep improving their own professional knowledge; keep improving theory of self-cultivation and combine theory with practice; make use of proper teaching methods. Secondly, the author thinks that inquiry teaching methods is the basic methods from teaching aspect. The followings are basic operating procedures: arrange students-centered inquiry teaching content; create history scene according to what students have known to motivate students'history thinking; organize class activity for all the students, which includes teaching procedures and organizing teaching books.
