With the increasing of graduates'number year by year, The quality of graduates has been paid more attention. Research on the factors affecting the quality of graduates is necessary to further improve the quality of graduates.The supervisors play an important role in training graduate students. The aim of this research is to examine the current communication situation in study, scientific research, life between the graduates and their supervisors. Communication defined in this study is the transmission of information, understanding and feedback. The purposes of the research are:1) study the communication between graduates and supervisors from the communication attitude, behavior and evaluation.2) Study the impact of different backgrounds of the graduates and supervisors to the communication between graduates and supervisors.3) Study the others aspects that affect the communication; 4) give some suggestions based on the conclusions to the educational authority, supervisors, graduates and follow-up studies.After the inspection of literature, an interview outline was designed and then a questionnaire was developed. SPSS12.0 was used to analyze the survey of 172 graduate students, the main analysis methods are independent samples T test, Pearson correlation analysis and so on. The conclusions derived from the investigations and interviews are as follows:1) The overall communication is good, but the communication behaviors of the graduates are not so good as their attitudes or evaluations; 2) Grade affects graduates' communication with their supervisors; 3) The number of full-time graduates instrcted by the same supervisor affected the communication;4) The communication between the graduates and their supervisors varies with the frequency; 5)Graduates communicate with female better than male supervisors, but the difference is not significant;6) The older the supervisors, the better the communication between the graduates and their supervisors, but the difference is not significant;7) The communication attitudes, communication behaviors, communication evaluations of the graduates showed significant correlation.Finally, Specific recommendations are made on the basis of the investigations.1) For the graduates and their supervisors, they should understand each other, dialogue, handle the conflict correctly, improve their communication skills, reflect usually;2)For the graduates, the need to choose the appropriate supervisor, be independent, be active in communication, take the initiative to improve their academic standards, make their plans clear;3)For the supervisors, they should raise their standard of morals, understand and trust their graduate students, hold the proper distance with their students.4)In terms of the educational departments, they can adapt the supervisor-team training, and evaluate more comprehensive;5)The further study could expand the scope, improve research methods, study the other factors that affect the communication between graduates and supervisors.
