At present our country graduate training mode is mainly use the mentor system,From the selection of graduate students to participate in the development of training programs implemented, opening report, writing papers, review papers, and instructors have to be involved in the guidance. Communication as a way of mentoring graduate students, the quality of communication related to the quality of graduate education. Based on this, this article select J university as a case,through the questionnaire survey and interview methods combined,from the graduate and supervisor perspective analyze the graduate-supervisor communication status; Finally based on the problems of communication put forward the countermeasures and suggestions to improve the quality teacher-student communication.According to the survey, the graduate-supervisor communication status is not hopeful, it reflected in:the initiative of the graduate to communicate supervisor is poor,the frequency of communication is low, the content of communication is relatively simple and etc; Graduate students and supervisor from different backgrounds was no significant difference in the communication environment, communication attitude and communication results; Factors influencing teacher-student communication satisfaction are: the initiative of communication, recognition of supervisor, the feedback of supervisor, supervisor’s character and their own learning.Aiming at these communicating problems, we propose the following aspects to improve it: 1. Graduate:Improve the enthusiasm to communication with supervisor,improve their academic level and research capability, take full use of their free time. 2.Supervisor: clarify their responsibilities as a supervisor, they not only pay attention to the non-emotional communication, but also pay attention to emotional communication.3. Both graduate and supervisor: strengthen mutual understanding, mutual respect and take equality dialogue, master some communication skills; 4.the related education sector: control graduate enrollment, improve teacher-student elected system, improve teacher management system.
