A Study On The Condition Of Host International Single Sports Event By City In China

With the competition among cities goes from fierce to white-hot, the cities of China start to propagate their own brands by various means. The choice of holding large sporting events, especially international sporting events, becomes an important means. More and more cities, including not only large cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, but also the middle scale and small cities continue to apply for hosting international single sporting events.This thesis designs a system of an overall condition index on a basis of PEST analysis instrument and the principle of establishment of a system of condition index, establishes the condition system of the host of a national single sporting event by cities in China in the use of Delphi Method and AHP to measure the weight of each single condition in the system, and draw conclusions as follows after an empirical analysis of an example of the Futsal World Cup hosted by the city of Hangzhou:First, political elements are the precondition, of which the political environment is the most important one. Under the circumstance of a stable political environment, the organizers shall make efforts to obtain the support from the government and the responsible association.Second, the organizers shall maximize the satisfaction to the application by applying in accordance with the request of the provisions and the procedures of International Single Sport Association, the owner of the resources of sporting events, and international practices.Third, the levels of economic development, the experience to host large activities, the completion of supporting facilities, the venues for the sporting events shall be economic conditions of priority for the examination of the candidate city. Of the aforesaid economic conditions, the levels of economic development of the cities including the general per capita production and fiscal revenue, and the experience to host large activities are important element in the examination for international single sporting events; the supporting facilities including aviation, transportation, accommodation, security and communications demonstrated the city's capacity of accommodation. Te venues shall not only fulfill the international game requirements such as technology, safety and environment protection, but also focus on the post-game plan and sustainable development.Forth, cities shall take into account comprehensively when choose the sporting events whether t he cities'social and cultural elements match and can be incorporated into the image positioning and the entire development plan, and enhance the improvement of the image of the city. Meanwhile, the support of residents, sponsors, audience and media shall also be big concerns of the candidate city.Fifth, the sporting event project is also a condition cannot be ignored. In order to promote the developmemt of both the city and the sporting event, the organizers shall consider whether the natural environment conform with the hosting requirements of the single sporting event, and the ability to organize and operate the sporting event.
