| Reporting is the crucial part of our developing assessment system. It improves students'learning by delivering the information about students' learning to stakeholders effectively. Report card is the most important form of reporting system. So how to reconstruct the report card is the focus of my research.Through carding the history of theory on reporting, this paper defines the roles and function of report card in reporting system, then analyzes the shortage of existed report card in Chinese schools. After that, the paper tries to explore available international experiences. At last, it discusses how to design report card under the background of our curriculum reform. There are four parts in this dissertation:The first part introduces the history of reporting and the role of report card, which is the precondition of the reconstruction of report card. By reviewing the history, this part mainly describes what part the report card will play, meanwhile the key points of designing report card are illustrated.The second part focuses on the existed report card in domestic, for report card can't really play its roles unless it can be designed properly. The author also chooses the popular models of report card to analyze, and tries to find out theirs shortcomings.In the third part, the author seeks excellent cases of international report cards. Focused on the purpose, design or implement, the author analyzes the report cards from Bangkok, Ontario and Tasmanian. Therefore, we can acquire the experiences of reconstructing our own report cards.The last part develops three principles of designing report cards. That is, report should be accord with school curriculum, should display complete learning information and should be consistency understandable. This part also shows samples to help teachers improve their report card. |
