Based on the current status of domestic and overseas research on online learning behavior, this paper will study from the perspective of online learning behavior to design appropriate programs of learning activities, make qualitative and quantitative analyses of learning effect, then sums up the characteristics of online learning behavior to determine the correlations between the types of learning behavior and learning quality, analyzes the behavioral differences of learners' with different learning levels, explores the reasons affecting the quality of online learning and proposes optimal strategies and methods of online learning to enhance the efficiency.Taking the "designing of learning activities" and "analysis of online learning behavior" as cues, three subjects are studied in this thesis:Firstly, the important concepts related to this study are interpreted, the status of research on online learning behavior of domestic and international is summarized, and some hot topics and shortcomings are summed up from existing research in this field, which lay the theoretic foundation and provide objects for the launching of this study. Summarizing the learning theories and teaching theories, which are related to online learning and online learning behaviors, lays a theoretical foundation for the design of learning activities. According to the previous research findings, the concrete manifestations of online learning behavior and the main factors impacting online learning behavior are summarized, which provides clues for the later data analysis.Secondly, we selected a specific online course and designed learning activities, including eight steps:learning needs analysis, learner and learning environment analysis, activity objectives design, activity task design, developing activity evaluation scheme, developing strategies of helping students, processes of learning activities design, and evaluation of learning activities effects. Based on the initial design, we implement teaching and make the necessary changes to the problems arising from the progress of instruction design making the scheme more suitable with the learners' individual characteristics and specific requirements of learning tasks.Thirdly, after the end of learning activities, the behavior data retained in the learning platform was encoded in accordance with the framework of content analysis, and we made a quantitative content analysis from the point of the learning behavior and arrived at the following conclusions:1. Learners hold positive attitudes toward online learning styles and collaborative learning outcomes, but as an individual, the motivation of learners participating in online learning is different.2. To a certain degree, learners have the ability of accessing and processing information, students are lack of in-depth summary and reflection, and the information literacy need to be further improved.3. Learners lack the sense of sharing resources. Few people take the initiative to publish the curriculum-related learning resources into the platform.4. There is a certain interaction between learners by an asynchronous online communication platform, but the degree of interaction is not deep.5. The frequency of online collaboration between group members is quite low, and the members discuss by means of QQ and face-to-face.6. Learners hold high enthusiasm to participate in peer assessment works, but the difference is large between individuals and majority of learners' levels of constructing knowledge are lower.7. There is no significant difference in behavior between male and female learners in online learning process.The analysis results of interview records show that:the major factors impacting the quality of online learning are the learner's previous learning experiences, learning motivation, learning attitudes, teacher's guidance, convenience and stability of the learning platform and so on.According the conclusions of analysis, we wish to make proposals as follows to help learners to establish a correct attitude towards learning and improve motivation to learn; to reduce the frustration of learning by experiencing the feeling of academic success more; to bring the organizing, monitoring and guiding role of teachers into full play; to optimize the online learning environment and improve the level of online course activity design.
