The employment of contemporary university students has become a hot issue which is conventionally concerned by the whole society. As an important part of regular institutions of higher education, traditional Chinese medicine (hereinafter referred to as TCM) colleges'and universities'students'employment problems has not only the common property of regular institutions of higher education but also their own characteristics because of the traditional culture and the professional characteristics of TCM, which inevitably leads to the employment difference of their students. A large number of facts prove that nowadays, the students' employment of colleges and universities is not because of the total social demand is deficient, but the employment policy system and the students'values of employment.As students'employment problems of other regular institutions of higher education, the employment of college students of TCM is affected by the serious employment situation of whole society in general and the lagging of higher education reform. Currently, the general employment situation of whole society is grim, but for TCM students, a lot of research and facts indicates that the demanded number of TCM students is much higher that existing. Moreover, because of its professional characteristics, there is nearly no opportunity for students from other industries to go into the employment market of TCM students, while TCM students have a lot of opportunities to set foot in other industries in virtue of the close relationship between traditional culture and TCM---the essence of traditional culture. The reform of higher education is an objective existence, but there is no possibility for any reform to succeed over nightly instead of taking a long process. Thus, under the condition of severe employment of the whole society and the lagging of high education reform, undoubtedly it is a very good research direction to solve the employment problem by initiating the study on the subjective cognition and the subjective employment values of the University students. University graduates work in different industries because of their own professional characteristics, which inevitably lead to the different employment values. For instance, Chinese medicine students have to embed the concept of curing the diseases of human being as their career Motto in their mind since the beginning of their study. Therefore, the nature, environment and the culture would involve the values of students as well. This article is attempted to investigate the employment values of TCM students with the application of Marxist theory of values and career theory, so as to provide ideas for solving the employment problem of TCM colleges and universities.In the first part, it specially expounds the purpose and meaning of this research, and makes an analysis on the current research condition on employment value. It was found that the researchers abroad mainly focus on the research on the employment from the aspects of the employee's personal value. For instance, in the theory of Attributes Factors of Frank. Parosns, of Party-centered Therapies of C.Ropes and of Career Development of D. Super, they all attach importance of research on Values while they research on employment problem. Recently many experts and scholars domestically have done researches on employment problem, either from the view of macro level, or from the view of employment value, but few of them make the research of employment problem by combining with the characteristics of Chinese Medicine Industry. The employment value of Chinese Medicine students has the particularity, which can't be separated with the mother of Traditional Chinese Culture. To further study on the employment value of TCM University students can promote employment.The second part discusses the current employment situation, the necessity employment value of TCM University students. The employment problem of TCM university students has been produced along with the employment problems of national college students. The lagging of higher education reformation, the general sever employment situation objectively influence the employments of TCM graduates. These factors will have been continuing in the future years and it will be even sharper. What's more, since the subjective reasons such as relying on the labor market, pursuit of profits, selection of employment difference, all the cognition and behavior of the students influence on the employment. The research group of Chinese TCM Education Development Strategies indicates that the employment demands before 2020 reach 300000 units annually, while up to 2005, the total number of students is 210000. Therefore, the TCM College graduates shouldn't encounter the employment problems. Since the objective reasons which cause employment problems can not be completely solved, it is a good way to guide and help the TCM university students to hold a right employment value so as to solve employment problems.The third part studies the practical influence of employment value hold by TCM University students on the employment through making questionnaire in three institutions. They are Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Luzhou Medical College. There are 400 questionnaires which have been distributed. The questionnaire includes seven parts of employ value judgment of TCM University students, they are learning purpose, the scientificity of Chinese medicine, personal qualities, employment and carve-out, employment environment, employment conditions, employment value orientation and employment difficulties of TCM University students. Through making analysis on 351 valid questionnaires, it found out that TCM university students have blind learning, not clear understanding on Chinese medicine, conflicting thoughts and action, weak co-operative consciousness, material benefits tendency on employment, not higher carve out ability. Therefore, some objective and subjective factors, for instance, indefinite learning purpose, the trend of thought of negating traditional Chinese Medicine, conventional concept of Chinese Medicine, self-contradiction, market economy and parents'unreasonable expectations on students, affect the employ value of TCM University students.The fourth part studies the effects of employment value of TCM university students on their employment. Through making analysis on questionnaires, it found out that the subjective understanding and action of university students has an unfavorable impact on their employments Firstly, some students prefer to work in the primary segment, especially almost 90% of TCM University students choose hospitals in medium-sized city, different rank of hospitals, State-owned health-care institutions as their workplaces, this is the main reason of "The difficult employment" for TCM University students; secondly, the thought that pursuing material benefits, such as good working conditions, comfortable working environment, high social position and fulfillment, which are more important than living in life, make it difficulty to employ for students; thirdly, medical and health services are quite different from district to district, so many TCM University students pour into economically developed district, which enhance the job competition of TCM University students; fourthly, TCM University students also lack confidence because of low self-evaluation, for one thing, they do no believe that they could propagate the traditional culture and promote the development of Chinese Medicine, on the other hand, they have little confidence in themselves; fifthly, lacking good teamwork spirits and communication capability, the questionnaire shows that only 9.7% of TCM University students attach great importance to teamwork spirits and communication capability; sixthly, almost all the students are not clear of the objective of choosing majors, there are more than half of TCM University students are lack of clear acknowledgement of TCM majors, thus they choose the major blindly; seventhly, lacking thought of carve out is also another reason that students have difficulty finding a job,The fifth part makes a conclusion that the lagging of higher education reformation, imperfection of the policy and system, all the mentioned objective problems greatly influence the employment. Speaking from vast demands of the society to the TCM graduates, the employment problems actually are closely linked with the career-choosing problems, and are actually the problem of employment value hold by the TCM university students. While the objective problems cannot be solved efficiently, the TCM University students should build up a rational employment value in the following way. The students should take Marxism value as the guidance, hold a right socialism life value, place the responsibilities and contributions to the society at the first, spread and inherit the traditional Chinese Culture as the purpose and take lives of the human being utmost. Specifically speaking, we should establish employment instruction regulations through relying on professional development, help students to be clear about their employment value, and we are ought to instruct the employment by combining the characteristics of TCM and the actual situation of employment together so as to stimulate effectively TCM students the sense of being holy and lofty when they devoting themselves into TCM career and make contributions to the Country. To set up a right employment value by taking the people as the root, the needs of the people as the first, the students take an active and positive attitudes to get an employment, thus to alleviate the difficulties of employments.
