The purpose of quality education "let all the students develop fully," But a long time, Backward Students has been concerned by the educators in general. It not only affects the improvement of teaching quality, but also has brought tremendous pressure to the society and family. If you can not effectively solve the backward students′problem, quality education can not develop and promote deeply. Therefore, to probe into the reasons for the formation of backward students, to solve the less advanced students problems and to eliminate the phenomenon of backward students is a pressing matter in the development of the current education. In this paper, on the base of clearing the meaning of backward students and studying the theoretical basis and practical basis of the less advanced students, we has combed the type of the less advanced students, the psychological characteristics and the behavioral characteristics, finally, analyzed of the reasons for the formation of backward students in detail. We hope that it effect the transformation work to the majority of the educators.Paper is divided into three parts. The first chapter is the meaning of backward students and the theoretical basis of study. It introduces the concept of the Backward Students at home and broad, the theoretical basis and the practical basis of the Backward Students study. The second chapter discusses each type of backward students, the psychological characteristics and the behavioral characteristics. The third chapter is the analysis and the causes of the less advanced students. The part discusses the causes of the less advanced students from the students themselves, school education, family education and social factors .
