Virtual Classroom is a new developed teaching platform of using virtual reality, multimedia and network technology. Teaching and learning on the basis of Virtual Classroom breaks the traditions in terms of content, time and space, learning methods and means, and promotes the teaching reform and increases the teaching quality. But those virtual classroom which has created before are mostly difficult to create a realistic scene of teaching, and it is not easy to realize the real-time interaction among teachers and students, students and students, and collaborative learning among students is also difficult.Based on the above questions, this article studies the three-dimensional virtual classroom's design and development, and initially elaborates the teaching application of three-dimensional virtual classroom. The author reviewed a large number of relevant references, and studied three-dimensional modeling techniques, model optimization techniques, mapping baking technology and collision detection technology in the process of interaction design. On this basis, the author decides to use 3Ds Max platform to build the model, and combined it with Virtools platform to create an interactive program.Firstly, the author stated the background and significance of the research project, and then analyzed the status of domestic and foreign researches, and then proposed his research subjects and methods. Secondly, the author introduced the concepts involved in constructing virtual classroom, and analyzed the relationship between virtual teaching and related learning theories. Thirdly, under the guidance of related learning theory, the author designed and developed the three-dimensional virtual classroom, including the system design objectives, system architecture, the choice of development platform, system development principles, development process and the key steps. Fourthly, the author elaborated the construction of three-dimensional virtual classroom scenes and the creation of virtual human models, and described the three steps of constructing-virtual teaching scene roaming, interact design and publishing of virtual classroom, and initially displayed the application of virtual classroom teaching. Finally, after the trial of Virtual Classroom System, the author figured out a questionnaire, aiming at assessing the affects this system brought about, and analyzed the feedback received, in order to further improve the system. It showed that:the scene verisimilitude and interaction are satisfaction, but the system running speed and learners collaboration needed to be further improved.This method developing can also be applied to virtual laboratories, virtual learning environment project and so on. Our next task will focus on teaching resource library's expansion and the development of collaborative capabilities, making the virtual classroom features more perfect.
