Dropout is a tough problem in education field, especially in developing countries, in order to solve it; the nine-year compulsory educational system is carried out in China, which acquire well-known achievements. In recent years, Chinese government gradually increases investment to compulsory educational stage, implements free compulsory education system in wide rural areas, the dropout problem is under control to a certain extent, but we have to admit that dropout problem is still a tough problem in wide rural area.The paper takes junior middle school students as research object; by survey and careful study, it aims to find out the family reasons of middle school students'dropout behavior in Kang Ding county's rural areas. Furthermore, it puts forward measures to control dropouts and helps local education administration departments to make education policies. Based on careful analysis on first-hand data, the author uses four research approaches in the process of study: interview, questionnaire, review of literature and experience, finally, the author concludes the family reasons of middle school students'dropout behavior in Kang Ding county's rural areas, it involves four aspects: the geographic location of dropout students, their parents'education level, the structure of family members and their financial conditions, ideological concept of their parents. The author further analyzes the reasons of middle school students'dropout problem in rural areas in Kang Ding County and sums up two main reasons of it: family economic poverty and backward ideological concept. Meanwhile, it puts forward some solutions to dropouts; firstly, the government should strengthen the publicity to the educational policies and laws, increase educational budgets; secondly, the government should really attempt to alleviate the burden on famers, increase the income of famers; thirdly, we must take some measures to change backward ideological concept and build up the concept of"thriving agriculture through science and education"; lastly, we hope that relevant departments could strengthen supervision on the stage of compulsory education.All in all, education is a complicated social problem, its development demands the vigorous support and active participation of governments at all levels and society at large, on the condition that it lays the foundation of the goal of comprehensive building an affluent society.
