| The Shan-Gan-Ning(Shan'xi, Gansu, and Ningxia) Border Region, during the War of Resistance Against Japan, was a leading center of the CPC and CPC armed forces including the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army. In order to surmount all kinds of difficulties, the border region had to do a lot of work in politics, economy and culture. News Communication was a part of cultural work. From the perspective of communication studies, this M.A.thesis focuses on the question of how the news spread in the Shan-Gan-Ningxia Border Region. Based on a macroscopic study of communication environment, communication ways, communication techniques and audiences, it concludes that the journalists paid much attention to the rules of dissemination and made full use of news media. What's more, the Kuomingtang-controled area's press and foreigners contributed a lot to the Shan-Gan-Ningxia Border Region's news commnication. A virtuous circle of communication, in which the journalists and audiences communicated mutually, came into being. The news communication in this period had not only distinctive feature of mass participation but also the characteristics in technique and openess to the outside. Though in the Border Region the level of the material force and technology was very low, the news communication had been fruitful. Therefore, we can say that journalism in the Shan-Gan-Ningxia Border Region is one of the models in the long history of the Chinese communication-, and it has a double significance of academy and reality . |
