| It is the research hotspot of Internet technology on how to provide users with continuous access to the network at anytime and anywhere, also the final goal of the next generation personal telecommunication technology. With the support of Mobile IP in the wireless access technology, it becomes possible for us to get immanent access to the multimedia global network, which fits the need of global computing, In this work, both the related protocols design and security problems of Mobile IP are involved. Chapter one introduces the significance, present status of this research, and the recent research hotspot and development direction, In chapter two, Mobile IP technology is briefly introduced. We give the actual problem it needs to address and the method it uses, and describe its working mechanism, which consists of agent researching, registration and tunnel. The security problems are dealt with in chapter three, we give the authentication mechanism used before, and also the recently-present AAA infrastructure of IETF working group that aims at separating the authentication process from the registration process, then we propose a new method to fresh the security association between each functional entities involved in the infrastructure on the basis of that. Chapter four mainly deals with the handoff technology and the security problems. Based on the Post-Registration Handoff method, we propose secure and smooth handoff protocols respectively according to the situation where mobile node roams inside one foreign administrative domain or between two domains, In chapter five, VPN with mobile support is discussed. Varying from the traditional MVPN that is applicable to the single host mobility situation, the method proposed here can support network mobility, which is the situation that the whole network frequently change their point of attachment to the Internet. |
