Research On Book Price Policy

The book is a kind of special commodity with economic attribute and cultural attribute, therefore, the problem on book price deals with both economics and policy. As an important part of publishing economic policy, book price policy has been paid much attention to. Since the innovation and open of our country, book price system has still been dissatisfying after several transforms, which makes it crucial to research on how to perfect the book price policy.The thesis is divided into four parts.Part 1 summarizes the connotation, functions, influencing factors and price principles of book policy. Evolvements, connotation and content of book price policy are briefly discussed.Part 2 mainly introduces the present situations on book price policy in some overseas countries. The cases in Britain and Japan are analyzed in detail to give reasons on the existing of fixing price system and free price system, and to sum up some experiences and suggestions.Part 3 analyzes the present situation on book price in our country with some statistics, construing the reasons and kickbacks of book price rise.Part 4 analyzes the rational and illogical factors in present situation of book price policy in our country, and proposes some suggestions on how to perfect the policy.
